Last Tuesday, on April 20th, the International Final Day of Viruskenner 2021 took place. Another special edition, as the finals were broadcasted online via Zoom. The participating students from Italy, Suriname and the Netherlands followed the live broadcast from home or from their school.
This year the project is more actual than ever. Previously, many people shared the idea that viruses are often far away from us. However, since the beginning of 2020 we have to deal with a Covid-19 pandemic. This emphasises the essence of Viruskenner: create awareness about viral diseases in order to prevent them. Knowledge is the key factor in this and serves as an antivirus.
During the International Final Day, the best students showed their innovative solutions to prevent the spread of a particular virus in their videos. Subsequently, an expert jury judged all the submitted videos based on three main aspects: Societal impact, creativity and content. Finally, the five best teams were announced and awarded!
