The topics of this podcast are the Next Generation projects “Viruskenner” and “Hygiene helps”. During this podcast, Dylan de Lange and Bob Krijnen talk with their guest Prof. Eric van Gorp, Internist, Infectiologist and Virologist working at Erasmus MC. The idea for Viruskenner arose during a presentation about his profession and passion for infectious diseases at his children’s school. Children appeared to be very interested in the topic of infectious diseases. In this podcast, Prof. Eric van Gorp talks about his international school project Viruskenner and the digital education line Hygiene Helps. Hygiene Helps teaches young people how infectious diseases spread and how this can be prevented by changing behavior. The interactive teaching package started as a pilot with a module on the theme of personal hygiene. Currently, new modules are being added, including antibiotic resistance.
