Maarten Limper

Maarten Limper studied Medicine at the University of Amsterdam. After obtaining his MD-degree in 2005, he started working as a clinical doctor. After a short stop working in Psychiatry he worked as a resident Internal Medicine at the St. Elisabeth Hospital in Curacao. Here he further developed his interest in Internal Medicine in general, and in Infectious Diseases and Immunology in particular. After returning to the Netherlands, he continued his training at the Slotervaart Hospital in Amsterdam, and started his research project, focusing on better diagnostics in febrile patients, which resulted in the successful defense of his PhD thesis in 2014. In 2013, he continued his training as internist with special interest in Infectious Diseases and Immunology at the Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam, where he is currently still working, both as a fellow in Infectious Diseases and Immunology as well as co-supervisor of Emergency Department physician and PhD-candidate Yuri van der Does.
